The GrandTouch-S keyboard detects the minute differences in how each key is pressed—intensity, speed, and pressure. This reading allows the piano to distinguish a soft note from a loud note and respond with the corresponding timbre variation. The response can be calibrated to the player, across six stages: Hard2, Hard1, Medium, Soft1, Soft2, and Fixed. Thus, the same instrument adapts to a firmer or lighter touch without altering the basic sound.

The P-525 combines the playing feel of a grand piano and the versatility of a digital piano. The GrandTouch-S keyboard, with 88 solid wood keys and imitation ebony and ivory covering, responds to subtle differences in the intensity and speed of each note. The sound is based on two sampled concert pianos — the Yamaha CFX, with bright highs and firm bass, and the Bösendorfer Imperial, with a warm timbre. Resonance technology (VRM) and expression modeling recreate the sympathetic vibration and resonance of an acoustic instrument. With record memory, Bluetooth connection and Sound Boost function, it adapts to rehearsals, recordings and performances in smaller spaces.
